Musician Performer Educator
Peter Davis is a rising guitarist with experience in an eclectic mix of genres. Most recently, Peter has premiered Sergio Assad’s “Scient, Safe, and Sane” with the Virtual Guitar Orchestra alongside world class guitarists including: Antigoni Goni, Jason Vieaux, and Irina Kulikova in July of 2020. Other notable performances include collaborations with the Hartford Classical Guitar Ensemble for famed composer, Leo Brouwer, at the Hartt School’s 80th Birthday Celebration Concert in his honor, and the Boston Guitar Orchestra at the 2018 Boston Guitar Festival, where he performed on stage at New England Conservatory’s beautiful Jordan Hall. Peter has also performed in masterclasses for several world-renowned guitarists including Oscar Ghiglia, Patrick Kearney, Tengyue Zhang, the Brasil Guitar Duo, Richard Provost, and Scott Tennant.
In addition to his classical studies, Peter has years of experience as a folk artist and song-writer. Both as a soloist, and with his former hometown band The Founding Fathers, he has performed at fundraising events and open-mics throughout the greater Boston area. Peter has also worked diligently to organize and perform weekends of worship music workshops and performances across North America, in cities such as Boston, Cleveland, Portland, and Los Angeles.
As a dedicated performer and pedagogue, Peter received his Bachelor’s of Music in both Music Education and Guitar Performance at the Hartt School in Hartford Connecticut, where he studied with world-renowned guitarist Christopher Ladd. Currently, Peter resides in Southern California and is actively teaching in the greater San Fernando Valley.
